The historical evolution of education in french speaking africa and the question of develepment
Abstract
This short expose will not be exclusively descriptive or analytical. Africa, it
has been said, is the graveyard of educational experiments. And there is no
lack of accounts, very often lucidly exact, given by foreign experts. And
statistics also abound, sometimes masking the true reality.
It is more urgent, above all in the perspective of an educational "New
Deal", to think about the problems, the reasons for failure and the strategic
points of attack for a qualitative change.
